2013 MAZ RAZ Album
Since the summer of 2011, Razteria has been producing/recording her 2013 album at Live Oak Studio, Berkeley (Destiny’s Child; Tony Toni Tone; Too Short). The album features an eclectic mixture of originals and covers including “Where is my mind” by the rock band The Pixies, “Chorando se Foi” (Lambada) by Bolivian folk group Los Kjarkas and “There is no End” by the legendary roots-reggae band The Abysinnians. Renée Asteria has opened for international acts such as grammy award winning reggae artist Michael Rose and popular UK/JA lover’s rock Lloyd Brown, as well as national touring artists Mystic Roots, Caribbean All-Stars and Taj Weekes & Adowa. In 2008 she performed at The Montreal Jazz Festival as a featured artist of local band The Dub & the Restless. Other noteworthy performances include venues throughout the Americas (Argentina, Bolivia, Canada, USA) and Europe (France, Switzerland). Her music has been licensed by MTV shows and independent films.

SANG MATIZ
“Sang Matiz” is a Latin Fusion band that was formed in early 2008. The name is a combination of two words: Sang, meaning blood in French and Matiz, meaning “Harmonious Mixture” in Spanish. The band adopted this name because of the diverse cultural and musical backgrounds of its members. The Band has fearlessly fused traditional sounds of Peru with Rumba Flamenca, Afro-Brazilian rhythms like Samba Funk and Reggae along with modern touches of R&B/HipHop.
Back in 2007 Yuriza Jared was playing with a traditional Flamenco Band called “Cascada” based in Santa Rosa, California when she met Eddie Cabezas Flamenco/Latin Guitarist but in spite of Cascada band had been signed to a record label, Yuriza decided to quite and start the beginning sound of Sang Matiz with Eddie Cabezas(all original music) in early 2008.
Later in 2009 the duo moved to San Francisco, California where they met Cata Atria (singer/dancer) and Johny major (drummer) changing the sound to a more Latin/Indie feel. In 2010 Chicho Espinosa (bass player) decided to join part time and add Funk to the mix.
In the process of transformation, Sang Matiz gained world music styles & rhythms trying to fuse them together to send a message of United Cultures. While in the search for musicians who share the same passion, in late 2010 Sang Matiz met Miriam Speyer (Singer Song writer/Bass player) who helped with composing ideas and Bass lines; She introduced a more Pop/Jazz sound to the band.
Right after that in 2011, Joe Castellanos joined the band to push the sound into a more Funk/R&B direction. As a quartet: Miriam, Joe, Eddie and Yuri started playing around the Bayarea & Sonoma County when they met Maya Finlay Sound Engeneer/Musican who joined to play keyboard & Cabaquinho and decided to Record Sang Matiz’s first Official Album having won a Recording Grant with Womens Audio Mision.
At that point we realized we wanted to integreate more percussion to our mix, so we asked Braulio Barrera (Percussionist) to join the band & bring in Afro-Peruvian rhythms, wich we fused with electronic sounds.
To close the book Jesus Martinez and Clark Seal decided to join and colaborate by recording in our Album adding traditional brazilian percussion to the mix.
Currently, we just finished our Debut Album with Maya Finlay at Womens Audio Mission to finally say, “We got the right Fusion Music to share with the world.”
TANILEE AMOR & AMOR DO SAMBA:
Tanilee Amor is founder and artistic director of Amor Do Samba, a dance company established in 2011 and performing in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Tanilee studied dance at UCLA with a specialization in Afro – Latin dance and art as a social change agent. She has studied Afro-Latin dance in Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Mexico and Belize. After performing with San Francisco companies and training under Maisa Duke of Energia Do Samba and Lalo Izquierdo of Peru Negro, Tanilee started Amor Do Samba. Tanilee holds a Masters in Public Administration and International Management.

IRAE DIVINE – Some know Irae Divine as the steady harmony vocalist along side powerhouse reggae artists like Messenjah Selah, Chezidek and Junior Toots in his recent East Coast tour. Others recognize her as a rising star amongst conscious female reggae vocalists. A dynamic singer songwriter in her own right, Irae Divine won a Laney College’s songwriting contest for her song ‘Young Queens.’ Collaborating with the production skills of Urban Reggae Godfada Rankin Scroo, Irae’s music is rising to the top, with raw lyrical expressions over fresh reggae riddims that infuse urban hip hop into contemporary reggae grooves. Irae Divine’s talents have blessed the stage of Reggae on the River, Sierra Nevada World Music Festival, Seattle Hemp Festival Reggae on the River, Brooklyn Arts Music Festival, The Bob Fest (HI) and many more.
SOL ATASH which literally translates to “sun fire” (sol=sun in Spanish, atash=fire in Farsi), is definitely bringing the heat on the reggae scene. Not only is she representing for women, she is one of very few who sings conscious reggae songs in Farsi, which is the native langue of Iran. She has a very calm, loving and peaceful presence and the recent collaboration with Junior Toots is where she showcases that through her lyrics and performance! Sol Atash has shared the stage with Toots & The Maytals, Luciano, The Wailers, Sister Carol, Anthony B, Junior Toots, Prezident Brown, Bambu station, & more.
