This musically eclectic song is a humble desire to see, hear and feel loved ones “Once Again”… The music of Razteria and Rahman Jamaal’s deep lyrics is prophetic as Rahman experienced a brush with death shortly after the release of the song when the music video was in production.

Day 13 – Reminder to Vote for our song ONCE AGAIN (World) in the The John Lennon Songwriting Contest

Day 13 – Reminder to Vote for our song ONCE AGAIN (World) in the The John Lennon Songwriting Contest www.jlsc.com/vote .

My cowriter Rahman Jamaal Mc and I describe the “change effect” – “Change is the only constant in life” making reference to the first song we collaborated on – “Change” – check the full music video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPCV8j5iA64

It’s crazy how you imagine something and then it becomes reality in front of your eyes. We started off with “Change” which opened the space for “Once Again” to come to light… and Once Again became profetic as Rahman almost died during its production… We are writing our future. We are the mastermind of our reality. What do you want to see next?

Thank you so very much for your support!

Day 10! Reminder to vote! http://jlsc.com/vote for “Once Again” in the World category. We are 1/3 of the way through! Thank you so much for your support :)

Today we go into greater depth about our experience in Bolivia, working with the youth of Performing Life International – Fundacion EnseñARTE Bolivia – NGO which provides opportunities in the artes for kids from disadvantaged backgrounds. https://www.youtube.com/user/PerformingLifeBo

Being Bolivian I really should know more about the traditional dances.. Caporales – is one of the most popular – but many people likely don’t know that its inspired by the slave master “Caporal”…

‘Caporal’ was the overseer of the black slaves in the Yungas region – was usually mixed race, wore boots and held a whip (I think this mimiced by the hankerchief?).

This dance is characteristic of Saya music which originated in Bolivia originated in Yungas where the one of the only Afro-bolivian community exists in Tocana. While only 1% of the population they have profoundly influenced traditional Bolivian dance and music.

While we were in the Yungas with Rahman Jamaal Mc we were a few hours hike through the jungle to the community of Tocana. But fate would have it we spent the day in the community hospital of Coroico 😉 … to be continued

Day 6! How does education influence your music?

A lil reminder to vote for ONCE AGAIN (World cat.) visiting http://jlsc.com/vote – thank you :)
Part 2/2: I present how my background in public health, environmental science and field work has directly influenced the topics in my songs eg. Mosquito (Dengue fever prevention) http://soundcloud.com/razteria/mosquito and Vinchuca (Chagas disease) http://soundcloud.com/razteria/vinchuca. This song has been used in arts-education about the prevention of Chagas in Argentina by Mariana Sanmartino .

Also, I present the development of Truffula Oak Studio, home studio started with engineer-musician Josh Petersen and bassie Waddell Bell. We were blessed that members of the PuppetPLEX helped us to build the physical structures, in partial exchange of time for future recording services.

The idea of this space is to offer low-cost and barter-based recording services. Projected is a plan to offer basic engineering training focused on motivating more women (men too!) to put on producer-engineer hats…
Truffula tree is the iconic tree in Dr.Suess The Lorax, symbol of environmental destruction. Also another goal is to make the studio as sustainable as can be, with solar power and other systems such as greywater and gardens.
